The Sound of Silence is The Answer to The Question

Updated: Dec 3

Many may have asked themselves, “Is the problem of children being trafficked really that bad?”  Others ask themselves, “How was this allowed in the first place?”  Silence, the Sound of Silence.

There exist a great many fair and good questions people ask, if only in the presence of their own thoughts.  It is in our nature to avoid that which we find uncomfortable, unpleasant and dare I say, Not Good Table Manners – Not Polite Conversation.  Talking about, or even asking the questions surrounding the topic of, child trafficking seems to be a social taboo.  A posting yes.  A comment sure.  An actual conversation, um.

The most common reasoning being, “Don’t talk about that around the children.”  Why?  They need to be just as aware as we.  They’re the ones who may suffer it.  Hiding it from them will not save them from it.   It may very well condemn them to become victims of it.

Freedom Murdered in Silence

Yes, I went there.  I fear not the truth.  To preserve freedom, forever end the enslavement of but one member of humanity, requires the truth be told.  It requires the absence of silence.  Until the great choirs of voices rise up, and all who loath what should not be true, the unthinkable becomes the hidden, the unspoken truth.  The unthinkable becomes that which we only speak of beneath labored breath, whispers such that others may not hear.

The Sound of Silence Murdered Freedom!  The Sound of Silence is the single greatest reason why small children suffer, in silence.  The Sound of Our Collective Silence is why the prayers of millions of children have gone unanswered, “Please Lord, let them come for me, find me.  I know my daddy is looking for me.  Send someone to take me away from here.  And if nobody comes, I don’t want to wake up tomorrow.  Let me come stay with you.”

Who Are These Evil People

They are the ones we dare not speak of - We Call Them They!
They are the ones we dare not speak of - We Call Them They!

It is said that “Money is the root of all evil.”  I find this too simplistic.  We have a need to simplify the complex, while complicating that which is simple.  Of all things we have the hardest time wrapping our heads around, seeking a simple answer allows us the ability to mentally put that subject to bed, get it out of our thoughts.  It is part of our genetic make-up to make all tasks easier, find a way to take our difficult chores, invent a new tool or gadget, make that job easier and more efficient to complete.

Humanity as a whole seeks comfort in life.  We seek to ease our burdens wherever and whenever we can.  This also applies to merely contemplating subjects which are also difficult, not easy to fully grasp, seemingly impossible to find an answer to, solve.  The more complex the problem, the more we seek a simple answer, which allows us to claim we solved the problem so we can walk away feeling pride in our clever reasoning, “That’s not as difficult as everyone makes it out to be.  It’s all because of this one thing.  All we need do is…”  With that answer in mind, the answer we gave ourselves, we mentally walk away from it, failing to even act on it, employing our clever solution, in our manufacturing that singular cause. It was simple really.

The Hardest Question to Ask

The first question we must ask, and answer ourselves with honestly, “Am I part of the problem?”  Who exactly is at fault?  Is it really just the bad guys?  We internally fear the answer to such a question, because we know the truth may hurt, as truth so often does.  If we all answer ourselves honestly, the truth will hurt.  We all know, “If you’re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.”  Who is really at fault for the pain and suffering of small children?

The Truth Bomb

All of us!  All of us who have remained silent - dared only to speak softly of this subject, when a friendly ear is about.  We attempt to comfort our own wittingly/unwitting participation, through our passive acceptance of this evil.  We seek to point the finger solely at those who actively engage in such treachery.  We seek to alleviate ourselves of any liability, because in doing so, we avoid that deep wound within.  We don’t want to feel the pain of our own silence, our quiet participation.

The children do not question the mistakes of adults.  They suffer them.  They have been suffering the Sound of Our Silence.  Because we dare not speak of this in polite company, it’s seldom spoken of at all.  Because we speak it not, we have no answers to the problem.  It’s too big we tell ourselves.  There’s nothing I can do; we tell ourselves.  Our most common response, when brought to light from time to time is to agree, it’s horrible, "Somebody should do Something."

Again, I say to all who dared get this far, dared to even contemplate that maybe, just maybe, we’re also to blame.  Again, I answer the question of who is really at fault, All of Us!  None of us are a nobody.  Each of us is a Somebody.  We, me, you, he, she, they are all Somebodies.  We are that Somebody.  We always have been.  We’re the Somebodies who haven’t done Anything. That's the Unspoken Truth we dare not speak!

Talking isn’t doing.  Posting is just small talk.  Comments come and go.  A share is passing the buck, “Here, hopefully Somebody Else will do Something.  At least I shared it.”  We also shared 500 memes and 280 animated fuzzy kitten gifs.  We clicked our left mouse button.  We did our part.

We won’t even talk about it, lest another brings it up.  No sooner and we seek our Segway out of that conversation.  It’s not a pleasant conversation to have.  We just want to get away from it.  Why?  Because we know, get too deep into that conversation, and we just may be asked...  OPPS!  I didn’t get away fast enough.

The Sound of Silence is killing The Sound of Freedom

If you now find yourself asking, “But what can I do?”  I don’t even know where to start.  Have you not heard the message yet?  Stop being silent for starters.  Start by sharing with this with everyone you know, post it on every SM platform, text a link to this page.  Start The Conversation.

Next, by helping us fund our investigations to find where they are being held, get the proof local authorities need, so they can get the warrants needed to search and arrest.  Somebody has to bring them at least a shred of proof, or their hands are tied.  This is America, not Russia or China.  They can’t investigate seeking crimes.  In America, they need some evidence that a crime exists first, something, anything.  Knowing isn’t enough.

You will not be begged nor guilted into giving money.  We ask only that you purchase what you may already need, a gift for yourself or another.  You can purchase a 4.9 Star Rated Novel, for the price of a novel, and also help give the gift of growing up normal to a small child.  You will own a t-shirt, for the price of a t-shirt, and also help rescue children.
