HoneMoneyProject.org has a singular focus - Saving Small Children. We're the Somebodies doing Something.

Who am I?  Who are We?
What is the Honey Money Project?

Bossman - Child Rescue / Author / Webmaster

I make no excuses for who I am, nor who I have been.  I'm just a guy.  I've sinned greatly.  I have ignored what we all know to be true, the horrible suffering of children.  I shall go to my grave regretting I waited, unable to complete this task.  They suffered partly because of me.

Brian K. McGuigan, Author/Architect/Workaholic

I was once a "Technical Millionaire."  What an asshole I became.  Money can indeed either change you, or show you who you really are.

While raising $30K, during Covid, and fixing Miss Honey's House, I caught her one morning balling like a little girl.  91 years old and she was crying like a child.  She saw a 700 Club expose on "Child Trafficking."

  • Miss Honey - "Mr. Brian, can't anybody do anything?"

  • Me - "I believe there are people who are."

  • Miss Honey - "It ain't enough.  Mr. Brian, can you do sumpin'?"

  • Me - "Yes Miss Honey!"

Our Story

We're former military, Army, Marines, Navy.  We don't look pretty.  Not supposed to look all fancy.  We're supposed to be able to do what others cannot.  If you want to hunt down the true evil, you had better be able to blend in, know the rules of that world.

Some are bikers, patched up with their club's cuts.  Others are Local Militia.  Good men and a couple sturdy gals.  Between us, we're able to do what Law Enforcement can't.  We don't need no stinking warrants.  Some of these men can be quite persuasive when it come to gathering intel.  OOPS!

None of us ask a dime in pay for what we do.  All we ask is that others help us pay for the motel rooms, meals on the road, fuel, and replacing very expensive equipment.  As inexpensive as we can get the job done, it ain't cheep.  We can't do it all by ourselves.  This job is too big.

If you don't mind that we're not exactly what you consider to be upstanding citizens, we really could use your help.  We don't beg.  I have setup several ways to earn the funds, and you get exactly what you paid for, no more, no less.  We'll take it from there.

Strengths That Shine Early:

World-Building with Heart: Set in 1786 England (per the blurb), the chapter drops you into a foggy, candlelit world of cobblestone streets and whispered secrets. Expect lush, sensory details—the chill of a drafty manor, the scent of ink on parchment—that ground the supernatural "curse" without overwhelming.

It's not flashy fantasy; it's subtle, like a dream bleeding into reality, mirroring the autistic protagonist Daniel's inner chaos.

Readers rave about this immersion, calling it "captivating from page one," and I bet the audio amps up the dreamlike haze with subtle sound design.

Character Introduction:

Vulnerable and Relatable: Daniel bursts onto the scene as a young boy (or teen?) wrestling with sensory overload and social isolation—think fidgety hands, averted eyes, and a mind that spins like a storm. The narration humanizes his autism beautifully, not as a "tragedy" but as a lens for genius-level empathy and hidden depths. His first "curse" glimpse—a recurring dream of a forbidden love across time—feels raw and poetic, blending innocence with foreboding. It's empowering stuff; one review hints at needing "to find out more about Daniel" right away, and yeah, this chapter nails that pull.

Thematic Depth in Bite-Sized Form:

Love as defiance, curses as metaphors for generational trauma—these threads weave in gently. There's a whisper of the author's mission (royalties to anti-trafficking), perhaps in a dedication or epigraph, adding emotional weight without preachiness. It's inclusive and hopeful, exploring how "three loves" (across centuries) chase "the one" truth, setting up a redemption arc that feels earned from the jump.

What's in it for me?

I knew about this over 30 years ago.

There was Michael Jackson and "Jesus Juice."

There were so many stories, rumors.

It was so easy to just forget about what I heard or read.

It was so easy to protect myself from feeling bad.

It was so easy to pretend it wasn't "That Bad."

It was so easy to say, "Somebody should do something.

That somebody was me the whole time.  That somebody was all of us the whole time.  If we had done our jobs, 10s of Thousands of children would not have died in the night.
